This acquisition enhances the service that SGS currently provides to the power generation and supply industry and further enhances capabilities to service the minerals, oil and gas and industrial sectors that are relying on both public and private electricity networks to underpin their growth.

TACS Testing and Commissioning Services (Australia) Pty Ltd is a Western Australian based company that has been offering electrical maintenance and conditioning monitoring services to the industry for some 20 years.

TACS has an accredited Quality Management System and operates a NATA accredited Transformer insulating oil testing laboratory.

The services that TACS can offer clients include the following:

Thermographic Inspection Services

Thermographic Inspections are a safe, simple and cost effective non-destructive testing method

that can be utilised in many different industries.

This preventative maintenance tool can locate areas of potential failure whilst equipment is still in service so there is minimal disruption to operations. By incorporating thermographic inspections into preventative maintenance programs, servicing and repairs of plant can be planned thus minimising cost and disruption to plant operations.

Transformer Insulating Oil Laboratory

Transformers represent one of the larger investments that a company will make and like any investment, transformers should be monitored to ensure that they are running efficiently and effectively.

TACS operates one of the largest independent insulating oil laboratories in Australia. Our NATA certified laboratory offers a full range of analytical services that should be included in every transformer condition-monitoring program.

Transformer Insulating Oil Filtration and Reclamation

TACS offers an oil treatment service that can remove moisture, acidity and sludge from transformer insulating oil. This service can restore insulating oil to near-new oil specifications.

Transformer Maintenance

In addition to treatment services, TACS also has a specialised team to cover all aspects of transformer maintenance to minimise equipment outages and ensure the integrity of your plant.

a) Testing of Insulation Condition through DLA and PI Testing
b) Inspections of Insulators
c) Servicing of Tap Changers
